Trumpet Blowing Time - Some Success Stories
Same Day Delivery
A Glasgow design company called us recently. The guy was in a bit of a tizz. It was already 2 o’clock in the afternoon and he needed a delivery to New York first thing the very next day.
We could do even better than that. We made sure their consignment was delivered by eight o’clock New York time that evening. And the guy that was in a tizz? Well he’s a regular client with us now.
Urgent Onboard Courier Services
That’s what happened one Friday morning not so long ago when Kaye took a call at 09:30 from a high tech label manufacturer in East Kilbride. The guy on the phone needed an urgent onboard courier to dispatch a shipment of chip authentication labels to Beijing.
The labels were needed to solve a major ‘line down’ situation. He’d already spoken to other companies, but none of them had the correct entry visa to get smoothly through customs in China. By Friday 14:30, an Ecosse courier (who, just by the way, was fluent in Mandarin), with a full and current entry visa left Glasgow for Beijing via Schipol. The labels were delivered to the plant at 10:00 Beijing time on Saturday morning.
Fast Document and Parcel Transfer
On one Monday at 10:00 Cameron received a call from a Travel Company. They needed to get four flight tickets to Ernie Els in George, South Africa by Wednesday morning latest. Other global integrators could only offer a Friday delivery. Ecosse delivered at 08:00 on Wednesday morning. For us, that’s par for the course!
Charter Services
On the 30th December at 16:00pm: Whilst other courier companies were engaged in nothing other than festive buffoonery, our Stewart took an urgent call from a Scottish based computer manufacturing customer.
Within three hours Stewart had lined up a charter aircraft and arranged collection of a number of out-of-gauge pallets carrying high value IT equipment from the Ayrshire company’s premises. The shipment was delivered to the customer’s door in Turkey with minutes to spare.
Next Day Delivery
Our Ops team received a call at 17:45 from a Consulting Engineering company based in Glasgow city centre. The company needed to urgently delivery a tender response to an address in Utrecht, Netherlands by 12:00 the following day. She’d missed the collection cut-off time for all the other companies she’d called. It seemed impossible.
Our city centre couriers collected the tender at 18:10, rushed the documents back to our offices at the Glasgow airport. We lodged it into our amazing little system for transit to Holland. At 08:00 our Dutch partner picked up the document and delivered it to the door in Utrecht by 10:30. Done and dusted.
Air Freight
A local high-tech company called us on Thursday to see if it was possible for us to collect a ’line down’ shipment at 16:00 on Friday in Taiwan and deliver it to them by 09:00 on Sunday. All other courier companies had advised that Monday was the earliest they could offer.
Ecosse World Express collected as requested and delivered it at 19:00 on Saturday. No, that’s not a typo, we really got it there on Saturday.
Advertising and Print Media Services
At 17:00 one Friday, we were asked if we could collate, package and deliver next day (Saturday) to 483 UK Destinations from Gretna to John ’o’ Groats. To make things even more complicated, the materials weren’t going to be ready until 2200 that night. Did we manage? Of course we did.
Education Delivery Services
Thursday 15:00: Our Ops team took a call from a Scottish FE College requiring exhibition stands and prospectus bundles to be shipped from the College to Mumbai India by the following Monday. The College’s international staff had been let down by a competitor courier who was due to collect the items the previous Tuesday.
Our Ops team arranged for the items to be collected on Thursday at 17:00. They cleared customs in Mumbai on Saturday by 14:00 and were in the local agents hands by 17:00. And we cost 20% less than our competitor to boot. We love it when a plan comes together.
